Unethical Business

Who is this PR company who is so cunning and unprofessional? This PR company organized two events, on the same day, on the same time, and for two companies who belong to the same industry.

The PR company was so cunning that they divided the media members, divided meaning they invited a group of reporters to Event 1 and another group of reporters to Event 2. Divided media people of the same industry means divided press coverage.

This normally happen between different PR companies, but two events of the same industry belonging to one PR company, WoW – this one is for the books.

What made matters worst is this PR company even tried to hide the situation to both their clients. The cunning scheme was discovered because this PR company invited a group of media people to attend both events, thinking that this group are on their side. This PR failed to realize that information travels in this age and time.

To this PR company, we know that business is bad, but don’t make it worse by being unprofessional. You want to earn more at the expense of your clients? How dare you shortchange your clients and play favorites among members of the press. Two mortal sins committed in one day.

A lot of reporters and your two clients were so disappointed and frustrated that is why your secret is a secret no more.

A reminder to all the companies out there – Don’t be their next victim.

Money Changes Everything

Who is this company who is losing its professionalism due to the economic slowdown it seems? This company entered into an agreement with a client. Due to its setup, this company is not allowed to do the completion of the agreement, thus this company commissioned a partner to do the completion for them.

So the setup would be like this, the client orders the products, the company will deliver the products to the partner, the partner delivers the products to the client, the client pays the partner, and the partner pays the company or the principal.

For the initial part of the transaction, the setup went smoothly. The problem started when the client for whatever reason didn’t acquire the said products as scheduled, perhaps due to budget constraints.

So if we’re going to follow the procedure, no order from client, no delivery from the company to the partner, no delivery from partner to client, no payment from client to partner so there will be no payment from partner to company. Seems OK right? WRONG.

The company is now demanding the partner to pay them even if the client didn’t order the products. WHAT? WHY?

To this company, you are the one who entered into this agreement with YOUR client. You simply seek the help of your partner. Why make the partner pay for your client’s failure to fulfill your agreement? Crazy demand and a greedy attitude if you ask me. Not only will you lose your client, but you will also lose your partner if you continue your arrogant and stupid stand.

Unprofessionalism has no room in this industry that is why your secret is a secret no more.

What is mine is mine. What is yours is mine too.

Who is this guest who attended a corporate event hungrier than a wolf? This guest arrived ahead of the other guests and ordered his/her food as soon as the menu becomes available.

Another guest arrive and seats beside this hungry guest. For whatever reason, the food of the new guest was served first which prompted this hungry guest to say “where’s my food? I ordered the same food as his/hers” pointing to the food of the newly arrived guest.

The newly arrived guest offered his/her food to the hungry guest which the guest accepted. The hungry guest enjoyed the food so much that he/she was able to finish it in no time. It’s like a huricane or a tsumami just passed by.

The host came and joined the guests (both the new guest and the hungry guest). After exchanging pleasantries, the host was ready to eat his/her food when the hungry guest said “Hey, your food is different from what I had, and it look delicious”. The host then said “Do you want us to order another one for you?”. The hungry guest said “No, I just want to try how it taste.”

The host being a gracious host offered his/her food to this hungry guest. The hungry guest readily accepted – took the plate and transferred almost half of the food to his/her plate. This hungry guest again enjoyed the food so much that he/she forgot to return the plate of the host.

The hungry guest return the plate only after the new guest called his/her attention.

To the host, next time do not be so gracious. A hungry wolf will not turn down any food, fresh or rotten.

To the hungry guest, you’re a disgrace really. Your appetite is really unbelievable but your manners is much worst that is why your secret is a secret no more.
