Pea Brain

Who is I.T. company (ITC) who has a big operation here in the country but a miniscule brain when it comes to business ethics?

This ITC has appointed a local distributor to carry their products and distributor agreed. This ITC heard of a big project and ask its distributor to join the project bidding. Unfortunately, distributor didn’t meet the requirements so this distributor was automatically disqualified. Guess what this ITC did.

This ITC look for another company that qualifies with the requirements of the project they’re interested in. This ITC ask this company to bypass this ITC’s distributor and represent this ITC in the bidding. Is it mere ignorance of proper business ethics or mere stupidity or a case of greediness? Take your pick.

The company turn down the suggestion of this ITC because the idea of this ITC is unethical.

If I were this ITC, I should have just talk to the distributor and ask them to partner with the company and split the profit. No violated protocol, distributor and partner gets their profit and so does this ITC. It’s just that simple.

To this ITC, the world is so small and there are still plenty of professional business people around the industry. You have to be careful about your business strategies or you will end up losing every partner you have.

As I have said, the world is so small, that is why your secret is a secret no more.

Kangaroo Jack

Who is this I.T. Executive (ITE) who is jumping ship again? Remember the story I told you about this ITE who went out of his/her way to take over the position of his/her collegue, because he/she is not meeting his/her numbers.

Guess what? Now that he/she is in his/her new position, this ITE is again not meeting his/her numbers. Since there’s no other department available anymore within his/her company, this ITE is now jumping ship. This ITE was reportedly planning to transfer to another company. His/Her application was seen on the desk of the new company’s HR office. Bad Bad Bad.

My advice to this ITE – Transferring to another company or department will not make you a performer – you have to work hard, study, learn, and work hard again to perform. If not, if you’re a non-performer, wherever you go, you will still and will always be a non-performer.

The industry is sooo small that is why your secret is a secret no more.
